Executive Board Members

Executive Board Member terms are for two years.  The annual meeting is held in September or October.  

 

President, Taryn Evans

Capt. Vince is a nurse, a FL Master Naturalist and a USCG Licensed Boat Captain.  He has been actively involved in the CSO and frequently is out on Silver River conducting guided boat tours.  His contribution to CSO activities and special events has been invaluable.

Vice President, Hellena Smejda

Hellena has been a CSO member from the beginning and is just starting to become more active.  She is now the newsletter editor and the coordinator for development of equine trails.

Treasurer, Claudia Speiwak

Claudia and her husband, Mark, have been active in the CSO from the beginning.  They spearhead the aluminum recycling efforts and have helped Friends of Silver raise more than $700 so far.

Secretary, B Cunningham

B and her husband, Robert, moved to Florida from Detroit where B was Treasurer of an advertising firm.  They are both active CSO members and enjoy boating and RV’ing.  They have five grown children in Michigan.

Immediate Past President, Vince Druding

Taryn has lived in Florida for more than 30 years and enjoyed Silver River for many years before becoming President of the CSO in 2005.  She strongly advocates for community participation in protecting and enhancing the Park by joining FOSRSP.  Taryn and her husband Terry have two children and they are all active CSO members.
